A Reintroduction If You Will

Ummm so hi. I am going to act like a million people read this blog and have been waiting, begging, and pleading for me to release a blog post, and for you millions of readers yearning, I shall appease you. This specific blog post will be an extension of my new podcast episode "Beginnings & Endings". This will just be held together by less "umms" "buts" and "likes".

Prior to this post, this blog and the podcast were class assignments for my Fashion in Social Media course. While doing the course, I already had plans to really engage these communication mediums and build a community interested in my journey.

With that being said, allow me to officially reintroduce myself and where I currently am in my fashion career. My name is Jayden and I am a Fashion Design student at Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC). I came to this school already having a Bachelors degree in Communication Studies with concentration in Media Production. Blah blah boring boring. I started a brand in 2021, and I released a few shirts and that was honestly it. I was so burned out by it and knew I wanted to go further than your generic t-shirt, hoodie, and tote bag clothing brand. No Shadeeeee!!!

I saw that my community college had a fashion design program and while I was at a very stagnant point in my career, I took a leap to pivot towards fashion and I know now that it was one of the best decisions I could have made.

Now I am in my last semester at RCBC and applying to further my education in the upcoming year and I will share all that as it comes. As I was thinking about what I wanted the More Than a Fad universe to be, I originally wanted to talk about society and culture and the fashion landscape, but

as I interrogated that idea, I realized in order to do that I would have to be a poser because I DONT KNOW ANYTHING. I am not only a literal student, my relationship with fashion has not been a long detailed one. I of course wear clothes and have always enjoyed playing with my style, the world of fashion is still very new to me. I am actively learning more than your average fashion commentator, and realized that's what this needs to be. My journal, notebook, and archive of my life as a student.

Me constantly in study and research

This will be a documentary, if you will, of me developing my fashion brain. As I do research, assignments, make garments, apply for jobs, and find my footing in this fashion system, this will be where my thoughts and notes live. I hope through the messy and jagged strides I take, this reminds people to be a student. Even if it just reminds me to be one, its value will remain necessary. I don't have any expectations or demands for myself besides honesty and putting myself out there, I hope you will join me for this ride.

And on that note I am just going to end this here because I am tired and have to work tomorrow. (which we will talk about at some point).
